Longley Meadows is a 9 bed respite care unit for people with learning disabilities and complex needs. Set in the grounds of Sheffield's Northern General Hospital, recent refurbishment has added specialist furniture, a prayer room and new sensory room to this facility.
“We now have a sensory room complete with fibre optic floor, a computer to project images onto the walls and even an overhead hoist in the form of the Starship Enterprise! The room also has vibrating furniture, and music and lighting that responds to those using it.”
